At the very beginning, this OID was identifying Rec. ITU-T X.1080.1 with identifier "telehealth" as assigned in Rec. ITU-T X.1081 (2004). But identifier "th" was used in Rec. ITU-T X.1080.0 (2017) whilst Rec. ITU-T X.1080.1 (2011) used "e-health-protocol".

In Rec. ITU-T X.1080.1 (2018), it was decided to rename it "obj-cat" and to allocate it to object categories with the exception of child OID 0 which is historically reserved for ASN.1 modules defined in the 2011 edition of Rec. ITU-T 1080.1.
